Her experiences and love for the people, culture and natural setting of Colombia resulted in this novel. She lives in northern California with her husband and their golden retriever. This background enabled her to weave in details on tropical nature and geology, as well as Colombian society, into her writingI am, however, very very glad that Melanie finally gets her own horse, and the author did a good job of writing Image. They all took place within 5 to 10 years of each other and all are quick-read page-turners. Having previously read Ovason's *The Zelator* on the recommendation of a friend, I recognize this rambling and disconnected manner of presentation as something characteristic of the author's ouvre and not merely something particular to this specific book. Lyn Scott has outlined the critical success factors for an emerging nonprofit in an easy to understand step-by-step process. The arrangement are perfect to be played during funerals. The book's co-authors quote management guru Peter Drucker, who just passed away at the age of 95, in the opening paragraph of the acknowledgements: "Innovation and marketing are the only two valuable activities of a firm. the critically important challenge of enlisting the active support of those who are "reliably-driven analytical thinkers who dominate the hierarchy and the validity-driven intuitive thinkers who are often brought in to `get the organization out of the box,'" Martin suggests and then discusses five specific initiatives (Pages 168-177). Many of the pictures are some of the best ever published on this subject, whMackinnon brings to life the forest's flora and fauna, the wildlife, and the tribal peoplemeticulous detail and knowledge of the locale bring a unique richness to the novel "A Place in the World" is a serene, affecting, and poignant novel by a gifted storyteller. The author created a world that was wholly realistic and honest.
