This book is a good tour of both the state of the art, as well as a tour of some of the unanswered questions.. Needs more and better photos and illustrations. My objective was to find a short book to use as a recommended or even required background reading, so that students could get some very simple technical foundations and learn some useful distinctions, e.g. He is a very good first year high school student and found it to be both interesting and educational.. Most non-engineers aren't used to thinking that way -- there's a tendency to jump directly to visualizing machines doing human-like things, without appreciating the layers of complexity those behaviors entail -- so this will be a good mind-opener for many readers. This is not such a great book. Excellent read. it briefly goes over the basics of the software and has two walk-through exercises and two exercises for you to do at your leisure. There is little if any information of that type. Not only is this book a treasure trove of data and useful information, but it also gives concise histories of each model making this an enjoyable read even if you are not a data seeker.If you are a 911 owner, restorer, racer or potential purchaser, this is an invaluable reference.
